The Former House of Mr. Václav
This project focuses on the renovation of a 1930s residence located within the heritage-protected zone of Plasy. The design pays homage to the original symmetrical composition and seeks to visually “liberate“ the historic mass from a later addition. This is achieved by replacing the annex’s roof with a generous terrace that preserves the street-facing character and the original roofline. While the street facade strictly maintains the period-appropriate tripartite window division, the garden elevation adopts a more contemporary language with expansive glazing and a longitudinal dormer. This intervention brings light into the newly converted attic, striking a balance between modern living requirements and the building’s First Republic heritage.
